Hainan has opened a total of 46 overseas passenger routes

On April 24, with the successful landing of the OD690 flight, operated by Malindo Air, in Haikou, the round-trip route between Haikou and Malaysia's Johor Bahru was officially opened, making Johor Bahru the third city in Malaysia to achieve air traffic with Haikou after Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

According to data from Hainan Airport Group, a subsidiary of Hainan Development Holdings Ltd, the main indicators of overseas air transportation in our province have grown rapidly since the beginning of this year. As of April 24, the province has completed a total of 4,232 takeoffs and landings on overseas routes, a year-on-year increase of 714%; The cumulative passenger throughput reached 543,000, a year-on-year increase of 822%.

Since 2023, our province has continuously increased efforts to restore and open overseas passenger routes. As of now, Hainan has opened a total of 46 overseas passenger routes, covering 16 countries including South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, the United Kingdom, as well as Hong Kong and Macau in China.

In terms of international freight routes, Hainan Airport Group currently operates three international freight routes from Haikou to Paris, Incheon to Haikou to Singapore, and Haikou to Bournemouth, connecting four international freight destinations and initially constructing an international freight route network radiating from Haikou to Europe, Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, and other regions. In terms of fifth air rights routes, Hainan Airport Group has opened a total of three fifth air rights passenger and cargo routes.

In the second half of the year, Hainan also plans to open or increase overseas passenger routes with cities such as Moscow, Dubai, Manila, Singapore, Seoul, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh, and Kuala Lumpur. It is expected that by the end of this year, the province's overseas passenger routes will reach 62. In addition, Hainan Airport Group is working hard to coordinate the opening of the seventh air rights passenger route from Haikou to Vientiane.
