Haikou boasts a solid industrial foundation and abundant land and factory resources. In the past first three quarters, the gross output value and the value added of industrial enterprises above the designated size in Haikou City increased by 16.7% and 14.9%, respectively. Hainan Hangxin High-Tech Industrial Park, a major breakthrough project, and China Telecom (Haikou) International Information Park, have been completed and put into operation. VeriSilicon Microelectronics Design and Research Center Project has been advanced at an increased pace. Hainan Jinpan Smart Technology Co., Ltd. has been included in the list of the seventh batch of individual champion enterprises in China's manufacturing industry. M1204 Series Crossover Vehicles of Kandi Electric Vehicles have emerged as the first blockbuster product in the American market, surpassing all segmented products of Kandi imported by the United States. The Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Project have been successfully completed. Hainan Shiner Industrial Co., Ltd. has entered medical health, aviation and other high-tech fields through technological innovations. More than 10 renowned brands, including Bvlgari, De Beers, and Liliang Diamond, have successively settled in Haikou, and the high-quality consumer product trade and processing industry in Haikou is experiencing continual expansion.
ICC Group - Imported Meat Processing and Production Base
The ICC (Irish Casing Company) Group, the largest processor and supplier of beef, lamb, and pork by-products in the Northern Hemisphere, outputs 50,000 tons of edible by-products, 3 million hog casings, and 3 million sheep casings annually. Its main export markets include Europe, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region. In November 2023, ICC Group signed an agreement with the Haikou Comprehensive Bonded Zone to establish an imported meat processing production base. As the first deep processing project of ICC Group in China, this base focuses on the production of snacks, cooked food, and frozen meat, and will explore the fields of central-kitchen products and prefabricated meals. The imported meat of ICC Group, which meets the policy requirement on the value added after processing in the Hainan Free Trade Port, may enjoy a reduction of 12%-25% in import duties.
Haima Automobile - Overseas Export Base and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Passenger Vehicle Production Base
Haima Automobile is expanding its overseas export business, intensifying efforts to explore the markets in countries engaged in the Belt and Road Initiative, and concentrating resources to build two key overseas markets, i.e., the Middle East Market and the Southeast Asia Market. On the other hand, Haima Automobile, in collaboration with Toyota, is transforming Hainan Island into a large-scale experience testing ground. The project involves equipping Haima Automobile's third-generation hydrogen fuel cell vehicles with mature components and systems, including the second-generation Mirai fuel cell stack from Toyota. It completes the whole-vehicle adaptability development, promotes the popularization and industrialization of hydrogen fuel cell passenger vehicles, and will commence demonstration operations in 2024.
