40% of Internet enterprises and 90% of cross-border e-commerce enterprises in Hainan are located in Haikou, propelling the city's digital economy revenue past the one-trillion-yuan mark in 2023. Selected as one of the first pilot cities for the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises, Haikou is showing initial signs of success in the technological innovation and development of the digital economy. The 3rd China International Consumer Products Expo ("CICPE" or "Hainan Expo") successfully hosted by Haikou attracted over 320,000 attendees and 3,382 exhibiting brands, marking a 19% increase over the previous session, and showcased a significant overflow effect as a large international exhibition. Top supply chain companies such as La Poste and SF Express have successively settled in Haikou, helping it rank among China's key strategic cities in the national modern distribution network. International renowned consumer brands such as LVMH, Tapestry, and Estée Lauder have established a presence in Hainan, strategically positioning themselves in high-end consumer business modes including offshore duty-free shops, cross-border e-commerce, and Asia-Pacific distribution centers.

Bvlgari - Travel Retail Supply Chain and Integrated After-sales Service Center

During the 6th China International Import Expo, Bvlgari, an Italian jewelry house, signed a cooperation agreement with the Haikou Integrated Free Trade Zone (formerly Haikou Comprehensive Bonded Zone), marking the project’s establishment in the Hainan Free Trade Port. This collaboration is a milestone for Hainan’s travel retail industry, signifying the gradual expansion of international consumer goods brands from sales in Hainan’s local market to logistics distribution, as well as official pre-sales and after-sales services in the local market. This will enhance the overall efficiency of the supply chain while providing domestic and international consumers with an exceptional brand service experience. Bvlgari plans to construct a travel retail supply chain and integrated after-sales service center in phases within the Haikou Integrated Free Trade Zone. Leveraging the overlapping preferential policies of the zone as “a part of the free trade port + a comprehensive bonded zone”, Bvlgari will provide logistics distribution and personalized jewelry pre-sales services and after-sales maintenance services for products in all channels, such Bvlgari's duty-free and duty-paid shops, and stores in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
